Christmas in Fallbrook

Christmas was great but kind of a blur...the stomach flu hit ALL of us except Eloise on Christmas night and lasted about two days.  We had an AMAZING dinner and then a few hours later, Rylee starts throwing up, Clint barely made it home (actually he didn't, I had to pull over off the freeway for him to yack.  Then I got the kids to bed and within 30 minutes of me climbing in bed, Rylee walks Vaughn into our room (being the sweet sister that she is considering she's already sick) with throw up covering his face and hair.  I guess he doesn't know you have to sit up if you feel like your going to barf:(  So I get both of them in the bath tub at 11pm, Clint is hurling in the sink and I was running around with barf bowls trying to make sure none landed on the floor from the kids...I felt like a chicken running around with its head cut off.  I stayed up with the kids til 3am all to wake up with what everyone had by 7am!  Oh the joys of motherhood!!!

 Eloise
and of course some mate :)

Christmas eve the kids did a little nativity scene for us and sang songs in between Grandpa Kim reading from the Bible.  It was really sweet hearing Rylee sing a solo for us of "Picture a Christmas" and Vaughn pretending to know the words to the songs.
We had tons of fun doing Just Dance!
 Colette & Wil
Rylee & Vaughn were pros!

First day of first grade

My little girl is a first grader!!!  It seems like just last week I was walking her to kindergarten, now I'm sending her on the school bus to be gone pretty much all day :(  It's a long day for her (8am-4pm) but she's doing great and loves it.
I don't know where this pose came from but she thought it was cool and after three times of trying to get the picture it was just funny to me...already trying to be a cool little first grader.  Vaughn wants to be just like his big sister and has to do every thing like her.  After the first week of school, he still tells me every morning as Rylee gets on the bus "School bus!  Go in!  Go on there!"  Sorry Vaughn, not yet bud.
The socks were meant to be for a cold day but Rylee thinks otherwise.
Vaughn thinks he's pretty funny...or me saying "say cheese" is.
After a long first day of school and coming off the bus in tears because she fell down at recess, scraped her knee and had to go to the nurse's office...this is how we end our day...at Papa's shop to watch tv in the movie theater room!  (This can make ANYTHING better for these kids).

Here's Vaughn the first week Eloise was born...he couldn't get enough or her!  He wanted to hold her whenever he saw her and kiss her over and over again.  Now that the novelty of having a baby sister has worn off, he's bit her foot, smacked her face, whacked her face with a ruler several times and pushed the car seat off the counter (luckily she wasn't in it!)  Welcome to the family Eloise
something's not right here, Rylee's on the ipad & Vaughn's playing with the itouch

waiting for dad to finish surfing
Rylee got to ride a pony at Irvine Park.  Vaughn was too big of a scaredy cat, he just wanted to hold the lead line of Rylee's pony to take her for a walk.  I guess I should have gotten a picture of that, I'm a little slow
Family picture (too bad Eloise was sleeping in the stroller)
she fell asleep while we were watching tv

5 months worth of pictures...shots of kids, some family time, Hawaii, Easter, & Rylee's spring picture

We needed some pictures taken of the kids to blow up on canvas for our living room, so when Clint's cousin Stacy was in town I asked her to take the pictures for me :)  thanks for your amazing talent Stacy!
I should start a collection of Vaughn's dirty looks & scowls
he really is a happy boy though

Vaughn likes to sit right next to Clint on the couch when he knows it's bedtime.  He'll say "Seat-Daddy!"  over & over until he gets his way, I guess it's his way of prolonging bedtime, or he really misses his dad all day.
Rylee being a good big sister & another one of Vaughn's faces...
... & another
I asked Clint to keep an eye on the kids so I could make dinner and this is what I get!
cute smiling faces on the roof outside the kitchen window :)
Rylee didn't wanna miss out on the fun so she got up there too.
Vaughn's little photo shoot before church
 Hawaii
Clint got to go paddle boarding with his dad & brother

Clint completely buried the kids at the beach, Rylee loved it!
Vaughn did at first but that quickly changed.

Vaughn REALLY wanted to pull Rylee's backpack through the airport...poor kid doesn't know it's a princess backpack.

 Easter
we had a little Easter egg hunt the day before Easter with Nautica & Cadia
Rylee was very proud when she found one.  I wish I got a picture of her giving some to Vaughn, she's an awesome sharer!
Vaughn was a little slow because when he found an egg, he decided to unwrap it and eat it right there!

Cadia (my brother Darren & Jordan's little girl)
 & Nautica
another stop to open his chocolate
My brother Darren & his wife Jordan
I finally found a cute hat that fits Vaughn's head, but he didn't feel like smiling.  (his car seat cover is being washed)
This bookshelf & dresser was mine and my sister Jessica's when we were growing up but it had an oak stain on it.  It's been left out in the barn at my parent's house in Olivenhain for about 6 or 7 years so the finish was all faded from the sun.  I wanted to put it to good use so I had an idea (for Clint) to sand it & paint it white to look shabby-chic.  It turned out great and is now being shared by Rylee and Vaughn!
We had to make a room for Eloise so Rylee and Vaughn are sharing a room early.  Clint raised Rylee's bed to turn into a bunk bed but I'm not ready just yet to let Vaughn outta the crib so he just sleeps underneath.  Rylee is VERY excited about her bunk bed & tells EVERYONE that her ladder is 64 inches :)
I'm very happy with Rylee's spring pictures because the one's they did at the beginning of the school year were kinda funky,  she smiled so pretty for this one!
